Pailton Engineering Wins King Abdullah II Design & Development Bureau Contract
Pailton Engineering has won a contract to produced parts for the first 3 prototypes of KADDB 4x4 Light Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle project. The company is supplying steering columns, sliders and suspension joints for a KADDB 4x4 LTATV designed and developed by KADDB and exclusively designed to meet the specific defence capabilities of Jordan Armed Forces.
KADDB is an independent government entity within the Jordan Armed Forces that aims to be the preferred partner in the design and development of defence products and security solutions in the MENA region.

One of Pailton’s inherent strengths is its ability to design and manufacture bespoke parts within very short lead times- and this was a decisive factor in it winning the contract with the KADDB.

Indeed, the company started work on producing the prototype parts even before an export license was secured in order to ensure the tight timescales were met.

Marcus Kynaston, UK Sales Manager for Pailton, said: “We are delighted to have won this order from the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau and are proud to have delivered it in a demanding time frame.

“Designing bespoke products to our customers’ requirements is what we do best and this was no exception. We worked closely with KADDB at every stage to ensure we were meeting their requirements.”

The prototype Light Tactical 4x4 All-Terrain Vehicle can be customised to be used either as a logistics vehicle or as transport for agile forces required to carry out fast response actions. It carries between two to four soldiers and can be deployed by air, land or sea.

Ayman Halalsheh, KADDB LTATV Project Manager, said: ‘Having drawn up a shortlist of steering column and ball joints manufacturers, we selected Pailton Engineering as our partner according to their capabilities and commitment to work and deliver a completed product within a short period of time. I would like to thank the Pailton team for the effort they put during design, development, and the coordination with KADDB design team.

“We developed a good working relationship and I hope this is just the first of many projects and that we will continue to develop a fruitful partnership going forward. “

The military sector is a growing market for Pailton: its largest-ever single purchase order was with Force protection Europe to provide parts for the UK Ministry of Defence’s new Foxhound light protected patrol vehicle.

Expansion into the military and into the Euro bus markets has helped Pailton to buck the trend during the rescission. The company has recorded continuous growth throughout the downturn, reaching a turnover of £19m in 2012.
