The CD-ROM contains both sets of the universal symbols required for use on equipment, covering the symbols and hazard warnings required.
It contains database ‘snapshots’ in PDF format, representing the state of the IEC databases at the time of publication. The PDF format provides quick and easy search functionality for finding the symbols required.
The compendium on CD-ROM is a useful resource providing access to the entire collection of symbols in electronic format, offering you:
* Two libraries of symbols combined in one convenient package for a single purchase price, giving you permanent access (as opposed to a limited subscription-based resource).
* A portable library of symbols and hazard warnings for equipment.
* A general indication of function or purpose for controls on equipment is included.
* Text search features so you can easily locate the content you need.
* A portable and self-contained resource that can be accessed without needing to go on to the internet.
* Easy to copy the symbols electronically and transfer them to other documents.
The symbols are taken from the two withdrawn European standards which until recently were only available from other sources through a time-limited subscription service:

* BS EN 60617-12:1999 Graphical symbols for diagrams. Binary logic elements
