Harris Springs expand production line

Harris Springs, the UK manufacturing arm of the Lesjofors group, has recently procured new state of the art computer hardware and software, and two new spring production systems. The company has acquired this technology as a long term investment to ensure the business maintains its position as one of the country's leading producer of precision springs

The Berkshire-based company has deployed the Lesjofors group's enterprise management computer system designed specifically for medium sized manufacturing companies that 'make, move and maintain'.

The suite of programs will enable Harris Springs to obtain optimum business performance by managing manufacturing and supporting business processes, with group-wide communications, delivering to customers an efficient, accurate and timely service.

Harris Springs has also purchased two new CNC controlled manufacturing systems for the production of extension, torsion springs and complex wireforms.

The new extension springs production machine means that Harris Springs is one of the few companies in the UK capable of the high speed production (up to 2500 per hour) of extension springs up to 3mm wire diameter. The second new German machine will provide increased flexibility and versatility, reduced delivery time, a wider variety of spring types and higher precision for torsion spring manufacture. As a result, customers will benefit from more competitive pricing derived from the increased efficiency provided by the new equipment.
