Peter won a national competition and attended the two-day Certification Course at Murex Welding Products' Head Office in Waltham Cross. It covered theoretical instruction on Oxy-Fuel Gas Safety, The Properties of Gases, Safe Use and Operation of Systems. The second day included practical training to teach delegates how to fully test an oxy-fuel gas station and pass it off for safe use.
Peter commented, “The course was very intensive and thorough, covering exactly what I needed. The content covering the Health & Safety requirements and the practical applications were particularly useful. This will help me on a daily basis by having the knowledge and competency to carry out regular inspections on the college's gas equipment that is within scope of the accreditation.”
As part of the courses that Boston College provide, ESAB/Murex welding consumables as well as ESAB MIG & TIG welders are used on a regular basis. Peter added, “Good welding equipment allows our tutors to demonstrate how the welds should look and sound, prior to them being tested and checked.”
He concludes, “The quality of the Gas Inspectors' Certification Course was simply brilliant and is exceptional value for money. I consider myself very lucky to have been the winner of this national competition.”
