Farnell, the leading multi-channel distributor of electronic and industrial components, is teaming up with Freescale Semiconductor, the global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial and networking markets, to host a webinar on “Scalable Intelligence in Motion - Why have tradeoffs between resolution, low power or low noise when choosing an accelerometer if you can have all?”

With a focus on Freescale’s advanced accelerometers, the hour-long webinar will take place on October 13th at 2pm CET and will comprise a 45 minute online presentation followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.

The event, to be presented by Francois Villeneuve and Mathieu Forget, technical marketing engineers at Freescale Semiconductor, is aimed at electronic design engineers and students who wish to keep up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies. The full session will cover the most recent innovations of Freescale Xtrinsic sensors, the advanced MMA845xQ accelerometer family with optimised accuracy, motion analysis and battery life, and new ideas on how users can benefit from Freescale accelerometer embedded features in their industrial or consumer applications. Participants will also gain an understanding of how element14, Farnell’s online eCommunity for design engineers, can support information sharing and technology collaboration.

Farnell's Head of Semiconductors Passives and Optoelectronics (SEPO) Product and Supplier Management, Europe, Richard Curtin, said: “Following a successful webinar with one of our key suppliers in August, we decided to team up with another leading supplier like Freescale in order to communicate to our customers how Farnell is leading the way in assisting them to produce world-class designs. We look forward to delivering a productive session where participants can harness Freescale’s thought-leadership and expertise in electronics engineering.”

Commenting on this presentation at the webinar, Ross McOuat, EMEA Marketing Director at Freescale said: “We are pleased to partner with Farnell, a leading multi-channel distributor, for this online seminar where participants can learn about Freescale’s leading edge sensor innovations. Customers will hear about how Freescale’s Xtrinsic MMA845xQ accelerometers blend low-power, low noise and high resolution for greater functionality and ease of use allowing for new application ideas.”
