Launched by EUROPIA, the European Petroleum Industry Association, this dedicated online portal will act as a one-stop-shop where visitors can learn about the continuously improving refining process and the economics of the business; explore its many uses and applications in everyday life; and find recommendations for an efficient use of oil products.
“When people think about oil, fuel is usually the first thing that springs to mind. But there are many other lesser known products that European refiners help to create, including indispensable items for modern life such as credit cards and computers but also life-saving medical devices or synthetic fibres. ’Fuelling Europe’s Future’ will showcase most of these applications and offer comprehensive information about how crude is transformed,” explains Isabelle Muller, EUROPIA’s Secretary General.
The portal contains an in-depth technical and economic depiction of the refining industry in Europe, offering a wealth of information and easy-to-understand infographics on how refining is fuelling the EU. Users can also test their knowledge by taking a quiz and ask questions to qualified experts. A number of social media channels - Twitter, YouTube and Facebook – have been activated to follow the latest news of the campaign.
The website, available in English, will shortly be translated into other EU languages.
