Edwards Engineering install new blend centre for Broxburn Bottlers

Edwards Engineering has successfully managed the development and installation of a £700k, new Blend Centre for Broxburn Bottlers. Incorporating tanker receivals, transfers and dispatch, large vats, and cask filling and disgorging, the project was delivered in parallel with a Bonded Warehouse development.

Perth based, independent bottling company, Broxburn Bottlers, has grown exponentially over the past decade, and its blending and bottling facility has benefited from ongoing investment with the latest upgrade and new centre also taking place at its Perth facility.

Extensive design iteration and planning underpinned the short time frames within which this project was delivered. Complete modelling of the physical components resulted in a minimal amount of on-site pipe and steel work required.

Broxburn Bottling, Engineering Manager, Bill Richards said: “A high level of automation was required for this project and the new facility is now able to operate with a minimum of personnel.  The Edwards team are flexible and focused on delivering the project well to the last detail.  The completed Blend Centre went smoothly into production, with frequent tanker movements and the cask warehouses filling up fast. The additional vats we installed provide buffer capacity and flexibility as we provide a leading service to the Whisky Industry.”
