ECS Engineering Services expands into new premises

ECS Engineering Services has recently completed the move from its original locations in Pinxton to a new, combined facility in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. The new premises extend to 50,000 sq ft with a dedicated steel stock yard, a large steel fabrication area and generous office space for the design and project management teams.

ECS Engineering Services has been established for over 20 years and specialises in delivering high quality, reliable and cost effective engineering solutions. A large proportion of those are structural fabrications and bespoke design and construction of water, energy and environment engineering projects.

The company has expanded over recent years and with increasing numbers of framework contracts being won for clients such as the Environment Agency, it became clear that the company would soon outgrow its original facilities.

The business is structured into four main divisions all of which are now based at the new site: Fabrications, Water Control, Site Services and Environmental. The site was carefully selected to provide increased fabrication capacity, including a large storage area as well as headquarters and engineering facilities for the additional Water Control and Site Services divisions.

The fabrications business in particular has gone from strength-to-strength, producing CE marked structural steel for a wide range of applications; from weirs and weed screens to rail tunnels, bridges and large civic buildings, each requiring individual components weighing anywhere from 100kg to 40 tonnes.

Bob Nix, Chairman at ECS comments: “This move will improve the efficiency of our design and project management teams, which will in turn benefit all of our customers. The new fabrication facility has already allowed us to fulfil new contracts and orders, while also contributing to our CE certification, an essential requirement for any manufacturer of steel structures.”
