Franklin Hodge Industries have provided a children’s home in Transylvania with a tank that will store water from a nearby spring.
Supplying village water-supply schemes for Romania for over seven years, Franklin Hodge’s tank systems are especially suitable for remote and mountainous locations because they are supplied in kit form. Easy therefore to transport on the back of a small truck, and very quick and straightforward to assemble with a minimum of tools on site, the tanks also have to meet Romanian design and construction standards for equipment being installed in areas prone to severe earthquakes.

In response to a request from the outreach programme Task Force Romania (via the Association of Tank and Cistern Manufacturers), Franklin Hodge agreed to manufacture the tank, whilst fellow Association member, Killarney Plastics paid the transportation costs. Franklin Hodge also arranged for one of its customers and partners in Romania, Mivan-Kier JV srl to provide a team to build the tank at Deva in Huneadora County, Western Romania, where the home will give up to 70 disabled and disadvantaged children, as well as their carers, a holiday in a safe and secure environment.

During its seven years of supplying drinking water tanks for village water supply schemes in Romania, Franklin Hodge have delivered a significant number of vessels, ranging from 100m3 (100,000 litres or 22,000 imp’ gallons) to over 750m3 (750,000 litres or 165,000 imp gallons).
