Cordless drill weighs just 1.7kg

The ASCM 18 4-speed cordless drill from FEIN has been added to the Conrad Business Supplies’ product portfolio, expanding its range of high-performance power tools for professional users and DIY enthusiasts. As one of the latest products of FEIN’s 18V expansion program, the ASCM 18 QSW offers a low weight of only 1.7kg including battery, a very compact design and a slim grip.

The cordless screwdriver is ideally suited to professionals who have to carry out assembly work in construction and have to drill in difficult-to-access areas on a daily basis.

“Professionals in particular need high-quality power tools that perform reliably, are easy to use and versatile. The 4-speed cordless drill driver ASCM 18 QSW is exactly such a tool and makes work easier, more efficient and safer”, says Jürgen Kreiner from Conrad Business Supplies.

Since users have to work with different speeds, depending on the task, FEIN has developed the cordless drill with a 4-speed all-metal gearbox to enable speeds of up to 2,500rpm. The device provides optimum speeds for either drilling or screwing in different materials.

“A special and unique feature is FEIN’s MultiVolt interface. Power tools equipped with this interface can be used with all 12 to 18V FEIN lithium-ion batteries and are compatible with older batteries with lower capacity. This makes it an extremely practical system. Even if a charged 18V battery is not immediately available, craftsmen can continue to work with a 12V battery”, explains Thomas Blank, Product Manager and responsible for battery technology at FEIN.

With the QuickIN interface, the FEIN cordless drill can be adjusted to a specific task without additional tools. By using separately available accessories, such as a self-tensioning SKE drill chuck, the drill transforms itself into a specialist tool.

Another accessory are the tapping collets which can be changed easily and also without additional tools. The collets transmit the torque at the square of the tap, which prevents slippage.

Also new on the market is the metal angle head, which allows users to work around corners even in confined spaces. If space is extremely tight, craftsmen can insert the extra-short screwdriver bits and hexagonal drill bits directly into the output shaft. This allows access to particularly tricky spots.
