Altair Engineering has announced the start of a collaboration with TotalSim. The collaboration will start with TotalSim UK adopting HyperMesh, part of the HyperWorks suite, as their main geometry pre-processor for CFD. This demonstrates the advances made in the development of Altair’s CFD toolset.

TotalSim UK will transition away from their incumbent solution and explore other tools within the HyperWorks suite.

Dr Royston Jones, Executive VP European Operations and Global CTO, said: “I have always held great admiration of TotalSim, they are an impressive technology company and Altair is excited by this collaboration. Having world class CFD experts deploying our pre-processing technology will further accelerate HyperMesh in this domain.”

Altair Engineering is the developer of the HyperWorks suite of software packages including HyperMesh & HyperView. HyperMesh is used for creating or modifying computational models and HyperView is used for post processing results. HyperMesh is a multi-disciplinary finite element pre-processor which manages complex models, starting with the import of a CAD geometry to exporting ready-to-run solver file.

Rob Lewis, Managing Director, TotalSim UK said: “We are looking forward to working with Altair to integrate HyperMesh into our process and to use its functionality to help us face a wide range of complex challenges.”
