Organice Publish is capable of publishing documents in SharePoint to another SharePoint document library, or internal or external SharePoint site. Documents can be published in their native format like DOC, XLS and DWG, but they can also be converted into an independent file format like PDF and DWF, so that they can easily be opened, viewed and annotated by other users without the native application. Published documents can easily be distributed, accurately printed and securely archived for many years.
The new release of Organice Publish, release 2008 R2, can be deployed as a SharePoint solution, making it very easy to deploy the functionality to multiple SharePoint servers. Furthermore administrators are provided an administration site. This site gives an overview of all jobs and detailed information about which jobs are started, processed, successful and failed. From this site the Administrator has full control over the publishing and conversion process.
Organice Publish is especially suitable for organizations that manage their documents in SharePoint and need to share and exchange these documents with other (external) project participants. When publishing documents to external SharePoint sites, Organice Publish 2008 R2 not only supports Windows Based Authentication (WBA) but also Forms Based Authentication (FBA), making it possible to publish for instance to a hosted SharePoint site.
