Burkert Moves to Maximise Opportunities in Key Markets with Appointment of Fluid Controls as South East Distributor.
Burkert is maximising its ability to provide process solutions in key markets, such as pharmaceutical, oil and gas, food and beverage and semi-conductors, with the appointment of Fluid Controls - a specialist in these sectors, as its distributor for the South East of England.
Fluid Controls Limited was founded in 1988 as a distributor of high quality pressure control equipment to the oil and gas industries. Since then the company has grown considerably, establishing itself as one of the UK's leading distributors for pressure control equipment, and as a preferred supplier to many World- leading manufacturers and blue chip companies.

The new distribution partnership with Burkert corresponds with the move by Fluid Controls into newer and larger premises, which give the company greater facilities to expand its activities. “We were actively seeking new opportunities to match our larger capabilities, when we came into contact with Burkert,” said Richard King, MD of Fluid Controls. Burkert’s reputation goes before it as an industry-leader in process markets, as well as a highly respected worldwide brand. What we found was that our operations were a perfect strategic fit with those of Burkert, and that their plans and new product introductions were firmly aimed at the markets we are already serving or are seeking to penetrate.”

“In our distribution partnership with Burkert we will be focussing on high purity markets where hygiene is essential. Burkert is a leader in these market segments and has recently consolidated its position with a number of new products, amongst them the ELEMENT range, which sets a higher benchmark in process measurement and control.”

Headquartered in Aldermaston, Fluid Controls has four sales engineers, all of whom – after an intensive training programme - will be actively selling Burkert products. “We aim to train all of our sales and application personnel – both internal and external – over a 12-month period,” said Richard King.

“To support our sales activity, and to ensure that our customers receive fast efficient service, we will also be holding a substantial stock of Burkert products. Our commitment in this area can be judged from the fact that we already hold £400K worth of stock to support our existing market-leading brands.”

Commenting upon the appointment of Fluid Controls, Paul Trevitt, General Manager of Burkert UK said: “We are delighted to have a company with such levels of technical expertise, market coverage and quality of service as one of our distributors. Fluid Controls already operates in many of the markets which Burkert is seeking to develop, and we feel that the partnership between the two companies can only be beneficial in terms of our growth in the UK market over the medium to longer term.”

The final word belongs to Richard King. “We are really looking forward to working with Burkert,” he said. “They are incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgeable people, with a great range of innovative products that continue to lead the market.”
