Pressworking specialist Bruderer UK, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has further expanded its product portfolio by adding new metal stamping-related agencies. It is part of the reason that the company reported significantly increased turnover in 2007, not only in sales of its Swiss principal’s high-speed presses, but across all areas of its business including servo roll feeds, coil handling, tooling components and press ancillaries.
A new, exclusive agency agreement effective from February 2008 allows Bruderer UK to sell the Italian-built Millutensil range of die splitters and spotting presses, roll feeders, decoilers / recoilers, straighteners and strip end welding machines.

The German manufacturer of standard tooling components for the die and mould industry, Fibro, has extended its agreement with Bruderer UK to allow it to sell into the whole of Ireland in addition to mainland Britain. New also for 2008 is the company’s entry into laser welding and part marking.

Commented Managing Director, Adrian Haller, “Our aim is to help UK manufacturing by introducing new equipment and innovative technologies. We market them all under the Bruderer name using the slogan – We Supply The Press and the Best of the Rest.

“The customer benefits from having one point of contact and a single source of responsibility for the supply of turnkey press lines, from simple to complex, and for after-sales service of all the pressworking equipment.

Die handling has become an important issue recently due to stricter health and safety requirements. To address this area, Bruderer UK offers a range of quick die change and clamping equipment.

Other well-established sole agency lines include strip welding machines, winding technology, straightening machines, in-line washing and lubrication. Further areas of expertise are stamping and assembly technology, press tool safety equipment including control and tool monitoring, sensor technology, press force monitoring, and machine vision systems for 100 per cent real-time inspection of stamped parts.

Full back-up is provided by Bruderer from its Luton headquarters for its high-speed presses and ancillary portfolio, including pre-owned Bruderer press refurbishment and provision of spares. The company also offers its expertise in respect of other machine tools within the pressworking sector including on-site operator training, machine movement within factories and other services. In addition, hydraulic press sales, repair and rebuilding facilities are available.

High-speed presses manufactured by Bruderer range from 180 to 2500 kN punching force and have stroke rates up to 2,000 per minute. The headquarters and factory are located in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Constance. Founded in 1943, the company has a global presence and a worldwide reputation for innovative, high quality products and customer-orientated sales and service.

Concluded Mr Haller, “Customer service is very much our focus in the UK as well.

“We are very proud of British manufacturing industry and supportive of its pressworking sector. We like to help our customers to become market leaders and are doing all in our power to provide the right equipment at an affordable price to allow them to succeed.”
