Armacell awarded BuildingConfidence accreditation

The scheme is used by many of the industry’s leading contractors and distributors as an efficient way of assessing suppliers and certifying construction products. The BuildingConfidence scheme sets a high standard of accreditation and provides a cost effective method for participants to identify areas for improvement in their management, sustainability and corporate governance systems.

The accreditation is gaining in popularity following its adoption by a number of large contractors such as Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd, British Land, Costain, Davis Langdon, Kier Group, Lend Lease, Mace, Shepherd Construction, Simons Construction, Sisk, Sir Robert McAlpine, Skanska, Swift Horsman, Tarmac and Wolseley.

In light of the current economic climate and changes in legislation, such as the CDM Regulations 2007, contractors are placing more emphasis on setting consistent and robust accreditation criteria and assessing the financial stability of suppliers and sub-contractors.

The scheme in turn benefits suppliers and sub-contractors by providing reassurance that main contractors using the scheme will take a fair, open and transparent approach to sub-contractor and product selection.
