A full range of chillers for water and other process liquids can now be supplied by Hi-line Industries Ltd. Designated as their Hi-Cool range with 27 models available, liquid cooling capacities from 3.2 to 426kW and nominal water flows from 550 to 73,270 litres/hour can be accommodated with liquid inlet/outlet temperatures of 20/15°C and an ambient of 25°C. For inlet/outlet temperatures of 12/7°C and ambient of 32°C, the cooling capacities and nominal flow rates would be reduced by 70-75% overall. High COP is achieved across the range, with chillers providing almost three times more cooling power than their electrical consumption.

Mixers designed and manufactured by Landia have just completed over 20 years of uninterrupted service at Rugby’s wastewater treatment works in Warwickshire.

Grease and rags that were playing havoc with the Philadelphia top-entry mixers at a Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lexington, Kentucky have been quelled by the installation of a Landia EradiGator. Designed with a mixing nozzle and Landia’s bladed chopper system, the EradiGator has been installed at West Hickman Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, where in the harsh environment of a scum pit it tackles straggly, particle-laden wastewater with ease.

Knives and forks, latex gloves, grease, potato chip wrappers, drug balloons and condoms – just some of the harsh media being successfully dealt with by Landia’s relentless Chopper Pumps at the 144-bed Crittenden County Detention Center.

The HS04 can be fitted to the hammer to provide effective lubrication even if the tool is uncoupled and moved from one machine to another. The hydraulically operated pump is robust enough for even the most aggressive environments and is quick and simple to maintain, keeping operating costs down.

Burkert’s 8804 ATEX- rated electrically actuated ball valves are providing the safe shut off of heating oil and diesel fuels at multiple depots operated by one of the UK’s largest fuel distributors. The valves are employed by flow and level measuring specialists, Severn Instruments, as part of the company’s tank overfill protection alarm system (TOPAS). The TOPAS system is critical to safe and efficient operation at fuel depots, as fuel spillages are potentially hazardous and cost around £1,000 per litre to clean up.

A novel new half-inch (12.7 mm) bore instrumentation needle valve gives plant engineers the means to improve reliability, and save both money and space, in process and instrumentation applications involving viscous and contaminated media. Today, such applications are often implemented using much larger and more expensive piping valves.

Indestructible chopper pumps made by Landia have successfully overcome an onerous wastewater application in the The City of Hesston, Kansas, where at a site adjacent to a nursing home, adult diapers and underwear were continually blocking three so-called non-clog pumps.
