Is this the end for CO2 laser cutting?
After the launch of 10kW fibre laser cutting technology at EuroBlech back in October, from Bystronic, Jon Till believes the last possible reason to by a CO2 laser cutting machine, namely to process thicker materials economically, has been removed. Till, joint owner together with technical director Steve Morgan of Accurate Laser Cutting, Oldbury, has recently become a fibre-only subcontractor.

£5m invested into new machining facility
Opening a £5m machining facility at its site in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, Grainger & Worrall (GW), plan for the new centre to be operational from early 2017, and to centralise the company’s machining operations. With a controlled environment, the new facility will further shorten the engine development process, while maintaining the highest output quality. The new machining facility will also help to deliver production-capable parts at prototype level, thus reducing lead times.

Multi-beam couplings have been supplied by Huco Dynatork for use in a power-split transmission for CLAAS Industrietechnik's range of ARION 500/600 series tractors. Having identified a contamination issue caused by the ‘as-machined’ delivery condition of many manufacturers’ standard couplings, CLAAS Industrietechnik approached Huco for a solution which would perform reliably.
