  A series of short and concise whitepapers have been recently published by Midwest Motion Products (MMP) which are available online. The first two to be released which are attached below, provide readers with some basic, yet critical guidelines on how to apply DC Motors and Gearmotors. 

A new linear actuator has been released by Midwest Motion Products, a company based in Howard Lake, Minnesota. Unlike other light-duty actuators, which use a Delrin drive gear pinion, the Model MMP LA3-12V-5-A-SP-100 Linear Actuator, utilises and ‘All-Steel’ drive pinion, thereby increasing the force capacity, while maintaining the 5:1 Reduction Ratio which allows the unit to maintain a rapid 2” per second stroke speed.

Midwest Motion Products is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear-Motor, Model #: MMP-D33-455D-48V GP81-03.7 - Accepting any 48 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust Gear Motor measures just 3.2” (max) Diameter, by 8.4” long and has a keyed output shaft of 19mm diameter by 40mm long.

Midwest Motion Products, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Motor, with integral Analog Tachometer, the Model No. MMP D22-376F-24V T-03-C. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, this compact Motor measures just 2.24” in Diameter, by 5.4” long, including the 3.0V/Krpm analog tach. The output shaft is 0.3150” diameter by 1.18 Inches long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 through holes, measuring 0.19”, equally spaced on a 3.15” Dia. B.C. on an aluminum flange measuring 2.56” Square.

Midwest Motion Products is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear Motor, with integral failsafe brake, the Model No. MMP D22-376D-24V GRA60-032 BR-005. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, including solar or battery power, this robust Gear Motor measures just 2.24” in Diameter, by 7.2” long, including the brake, and has a keyed output shaft of 14mm diameter by 25mm long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 “face mount” M5.5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 52mm Dia. B.C.

The fully reversible Gearmotor is totally enclosed, creating an “IP-54” Sealed Assembly, suitable for use in many harsh environments.

Midwest Motion Products of Watertown, Minnesota, is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear Motor, WITH INTEGRAL FAILSAFE BRAKE, the Model No.MMP-D33-455D-24V GP81-124 BR-015. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust Gear Motor measures just 3.2” (max) Diameter, by 12” long (Brake included) and has a keyed output shaft of 19mm diameter by 40mm long. Midwest Motion Products of Watertown, Minnesota, announces the release of a new DC Servo Amplifier, the Model # MMP-1525-BR-24V. Accepting any regulated DC Input Power, ranging from 20 to 100 Volts DC, this compact, lightweight Servo Amplifier measures just 7.62” wide, by 5.2” tall and 1.0” Deep. Easy mounting is accomplished with slots conveniently located in 6 Positions for flat or vertical Mounting. The output of the Amplifier is rated for 15 Amps continuous and 25 Amps Peak, for 1 Sec, creating a 2.5 KW peak power capacity. The ±10V Analog command is scalable, for up to ±35V DC Command.
