The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cloud and smart devices are bringing a new era in manufacturing. Creating a ‘Smart Factory’ or ‘Industry 4.0’ production model, they offer a way for the electronics industry to stay ahead of the curve, producing increasingly sophisticated devices with greater efficiency and reliability than ever before. Does this mean a move away from manufacturing execution systems (MES) to a production model that only uses the IIoT? Are MES redundant in this new manufacturing age? If MES is selected, does that mean systems will not use the power of IIoT?

Critical Manufacturing has officially released version 7 (V7) of its modern Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for Industry 4.0. This Augmented MES release delivers four new modules: Augmented Reality, Experiments Management, Weigh and Dispense, and BI Cards. This latest version takes the already feature rich, modular solution to new levels; enhancing users’ experiences; speeding new product introduction (NPI); improving safety, reliability and visibility of processes and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Orders, sales soar at Critical Manufacturing
Critical Manufacturing has announced record growth in orders of 60% by the end of Q3, 2017, compared with the same period in 2016. Total revenue is up by 24% and is expected to grow significantly by year end, marking the 5th consecutive year of revenue growth.
