Solving stepper motor design challenges

In this video tutorial, STMicroelectronics will review first the PowerSTEP01 applications, basic control principles, then the key differentiators of the PowerSTEP01.

For example, the digital motion engine, voltage mode control, current mode control, stall detect, advanced current mode control with PowerSTEP01, and also system-in-package integration.

They will also go through the evaluation boards that are available.

The powerSTEP01 is a a system-in-package integrating 8 N-channel 16mΩ MOSFETs for stepper applications up to 85V with a SPI programmable controller, providing fully digital control of the motion through speed profile generation and positioning calculations.
