World first claimed for thermal imaging clamp meter

A new all-in-one thermal imaging clamp meter device from FLIR Systems has been introduced by distributor Conrad Business Supplies. The FLIR CM174 is claimed to be the world’s first thermal imaging clamp meter. It boasts Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM) technology that safely identifies anomalies without the user having to risk coming in direct contact with hazardous wiring.

Electricians typically spend long periods of time taking multiple measurements in a problem area, sometimes without even detecting the fault, leading to wasted man-hours and greater costs for their customers.

To address this, the CM174 uses innovative IGM technology, supported by an integrated FLIR Lepton thermal imaging sensor, to locate dangerous and unknown problem areas safely.

In addition, the built-in laser and crosshairs make troubleshooting easy.

The device’s intelligent design features a narrow jaw and built-in worklights to help access difficult locations in dark and poorly lit environments.

Advanced electrical features make it easy to get the readings required to solve faults and anomalies fast, including: True RMS, LoZ, VFD Mode, Inrush, and Smart Diode with Disable.
