The FLIR Reporter™ Building works as a plug-in to the existing FLIR Reporter™ 8.3 software. It provides advanced analysis of building applications and is therefore aimed at professional thermographers in this sector. In addition to extended energy audit/ declaration analysis and analysis & reporting of air tightness and insulation deficiency, this software quickly provides cost estimation of energy loss.
Together the software packages allow the infrared camera to visualise building problems such as air infiltration, insulation defects, thermal bridges and moisture build-up and present the findings in a comprehensive report. New and unique features enable energy loss over time to be quantified and potential savings to be estimated in an instant.
The new image grid/area quantifying function gathers measurement data within a highlighted area. A typical application for this would be determining how much building material is needed to affect a repair. Other software highlights include sensor/data logging tools and a panorama feature that stitches images together to present a large structure as a single image or to increase resolution. Image selection is also faster and more efficient and the software provides a range of image editing options.
FLIR Reporter™ Building introduces 12 professional report templates to speed up the process of report generation. These include Energy Cost that calculates thermal index, R/U-value and total heat transfer, Humidity Inspection for dew points and Air Tightness for thermal insulation. The software also allows pages from different templates to be called into a tailored report.
EU directives and legislation have driven the use of IR cameras for energy inspection and the take-up is likely to soar with the EU expecting to claim 40% of future energy savings from the building sector. The urgent need for greater fuel economy to counteract rising prices and the growing emphasis on green building are also increasing demand. The new FLIR Reporter™ Building serves to extend the potential of this proven technology even more.
