Mid-Range infrared cameras from FLIR provide easy access to new applications
The latest models of the FLIR mid-range T-Series infrared cameras contain no less that five new areas of function development. This faithfully follows the company’s policy to continually develop its products to add value by providing easy access to new applications.
The T-Series, predominantly used for predictive maintenance work, provides a good example of this commitment. Thanks to the first of the new features it can now also be used for basic analysis work too.

Streaming IR video
The latest generation FLIR T-Series has the ability to image stream enabling the user, for example, to watch a process at start-up and acquire radiometric data at a reasonable speed. This greatly enhances the application scope of this camera and to support this functionality new software packages are available. These are QuickPlot for simple trending, analysis and reporting work and ResearchIR for comprehensive data analysis.

Periodic storage
A feature that has long been the preserve of higher end and fixed mounted cameras is periodic storage but now this has been rolled out to the FLIR T-Series too. It allows snapshots to be taken at pre-determined intervals allowing the camera to act as a watchman for a variety of applications. Thermal and/or visual images can be stored and for ease of use a counter is provided as standard. This effectively takes the FLIR T-Series into the realms of product test and development.

Wide angle and macro IR
The ability to build a composite image isn’t new for FLIR but it is now available on selected T-Series models in a much more sophisticated form as the new Panorama feature. Images complete with their radiometric data can be dragged, dropped and aligned in a grid to create a larger image. This naturally opens up opportunities for new applications that can be accommodated without the need to invest in a wide angle lens.

In additional to various stylus and sketching improvements the latest T-Series generation can also be equipped with a choice of three new lenses, a 90° field of view and two macro lenses for basic troubleshooting. These lenses are designed to be used across the entire FLIR product programme. Their attractive price is therefore thanks to volume production.
