National Instruments has announced the release of LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5, the interactive measurement software that simplifies the acquisition, analysis and presentation of data from hundreds of data acquisition devices and instruments. Built on NI LabVIEW graphical programming, LabVIEW SignalExpress delivers an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop environment for configuring data-logging and instrument control applications. The latest version of LabVIEW SignalExpress introduces several performance improvements including a Project Analyser to help engineers and scientists identify and address common measurement mistakes. LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.5 is also available in fully localised French, German and Japanese versions.

Available from Audon Electronics is a new range of low-cost Modbus based remote IO units which provide a simple way of integrating analogue or digital signals to supervisory SCADA systems. There are several models in the range from voltage, current, thermocouple and PT-100 inputs, voltage and current outputs and digital and relay I/O. Supplied with the IO Studio configuration software. The optional DAQ Studio software can be used to provide a data acquisition, trending and alarm management interface for the PC. Also compatible with all SCADA packages such as DAQFactory.

Fluke has announced the new Fluke 287 and Fluke 289 true-rms logging multimeters. They incorporate advanced data logging and TrendCapture to help track down problems faster than before: TrendCapture also helps during preventive and predictive maintenance. An extra-large, quarter-VGA dot matrix display shows results graphically, backed by an enhanced user interface with on-board help (i-info key) and soft-key interface. Both meters can log multiple sessions unattended in the field: these results can then be reviewed without a PC.

To purchasers of the Fluke Ti20 Thermal Imager, Fluke is offering either a free Fluke 87V/i410 Combo Kit or a free Fluke 337 Clamp Meter, together with a free thermal imaging DVD. The Fluke Ti20, with full radiometric imaging, is the ideal thermal imager to quickly identify potential problems in industrial applications such as distribution panels, switchgear and motors.

Since the 2005 release of the first Coating Durability Tester, designed to evaluate the durability of coatings on drug-eluting and other coated stents, there has been high demand for Dynatek's testers and contract testing services. The second generation testers include additional capabilities to address a wider variety of devices and testing techniques. The CDT2 allows for a larger range of sample lengths and diameters, as well as for complicated sample designs (bent, bifurcated, etc.), opening the door for testing of larger peripheral vascular stents, as well as complicated coronary and peripheral stents. In addition, the new design of the CDT2 readily accommodates laser micrometer use for sample measurement, allows for vertical or horizontal testing, and provides internal loop heating for better temperature control.
