One chip solution for accurately monitoring headlamp output

One chip solution for accurately monitoring headlamp output
In response to the emergence of laser-powered automotive front lighting systems, Melexis has optimised its MLX75305 series of advanced light sensor ICs. Each MLX75305 incorporates a photodiode, trans-impedance amplifier and output stage. Unlike competing devices on the market, it is fully AEC-Q100 qualified and supports an operational temperature range from -40C up to +125°C.

Compact Luminescence Sensors Earn High Marks for Detecting the Invisible

Compact Luminescence Sensors Earn High Marks for Detecting the Invisible
DK50-UV Luminescence Sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs provide an easy, reliable way to complete tasks such as error checking, sorting, measuring, and positioning materials that blend into a background or are invisible.  They detect fluorescent chalk marks, clear glue, tamper-proof seals and other marks that regular contrast sensors cannot, even on irregular backgrounds, and deliver an industry leading (luminescence sensor) sensing range of 600 mm in a space-saving housing that is 50% smaller than previous generation luminescence sensors.  A light spot with a small focal point allows you to detect small parts such o-rings, pin-point leaks, and invisible markings down to 2.2 mm diameter targets.  These sensors are UL and cUL listed.

CMOS sensors added to Genie Nano industrial camera range

CMOS sensors added to Genie Nano industrial camera range
Six new models featuring 2 and 5 megapixel resolution ON Semiconductor Python CMOS sensors have been added to the Genie Nano range of GigE Vision industrial cameras from Teledyne DALSA. Using burst acquisition and patent pending TurboDrive technology, these cameras can operate at much higher frame rates with faster data transmission than normally possible using GigE Vision. This means they can be used in faster applications.

MTS Adds NEC and CEC Approvals to T-Series

MTS Adds NEC and CEC Approvals to T-Series
MTS Sensors announced that the Temposonics T-Series product line is now certified to NEC and CEC Standards 500, 505 and 506. NEC and CEC certifications are used in US and Canada to ensure that equipment meets specified standards for operating in potentially hazardous conditions. The T-Series linear positons sensors, which already carry the ATEX and IECEx approvals used by other countries, are now ATEX, IECEx, NEC and CEC hazardous area certified for use in Class I, II, III - Divisions 1, 2 - Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G as well as Zone 0/1, 21 and 22.

Optical rotary torque sensors suitable for low torque and high band width measurements

Optical rotary torque sensors suitable for low torque and high band width measurements
Sensor technology has set new benchmark performance standards for optical rotary torque transducers, with the launch of the digital ORT 230/240 series. These new optical rotary torque sensors are ideal for applications when the demand is for low torque and/or high bandwidth, providing precise, dynamic measurement of rotary and static torque less than 100Nm and for bandwidths of up to 50kHz.

Sensor aids pedal power

Sensor aids pedal power
An electric bike pedal force sensor has been developed by ZEMIC in conjunction with the Netherlands firm SPARTA – a successful e-bike brand in Europe. The sensor is a crucial component in the bike’s drive and control system that detects the pedal force applied, and through software settings determines a proportional amount of assisted motor power at the wheel.

Pedal force sensor saves hard work on electric bike

Pedal force sensor saves hard work on electric bike
ZEMIC has developed an electric bike pedal force sensor in conjunction with the Netherlands firm SPARTA – the most successful e-bike brand in Europe. The sensor is a crucial component in the bike’s drive and control system that detects the pedal force applied, and through software settings determines a proportional amount of assisted motor power at the wheel. Rather than a speed sensor, this control gives the rider a more intuitive riding experience with increased efficiency and longer battery life. The e-bike has several settings including Cruise, Tour and Sport.
