After nearly two weeks of intensive testing at the National Screens Evaluation Facility*, Eimco Water Technologies’ new Spiral Screen has achieved the best ever SCR results for a spiral sieve type screen.
A total of 12 SCR tests were completed at the NSEF, with the EWT Spiral Screen successfully removing all gross solids (greater than 6 mm in any two dimensions) from the flow, to achieve an SCR of 54%.

Comparing very favourably to all other ‘Combined Screens’ previously tested at the NSEF, EWT’s innovative new screen was rigorously put through its paces over a six day period, comprising six ‘ON’ tests and six ‘OFF’ tests, with the average SCR based on the results from all 12 tests.

EWT’s Sales Manager, Brian Powers, who has over 30 years experience in screening technologies, said:

“Until now, purchasers and specifiers have had an almost bewildering choice of options when considering new screening plant. But as a result of the NSEF trials, and the Spiral Screen’s very competitive price tag, the opportunity to invest in the Best in Class is now there in black and white”.

He added: “Already, there is considerable interest in this proven Spiral Screen and we are very much looking forward to bringing it to the market.”

Available in 35O and 45O models, with basket diameters from 200 mm up to 700 mm, and aperture diameters from 2 to 10 mm, the EWT screen is designed with no underwater bearing, whilst a sectional brush is fixed to the outside of the lower spiral tip for mesh cleansing.

For Eimco Water Technologies, this latest success at the NSEF follows the highest SCR for inlet screens achieved at the same testing facility by two of the brands within its group: Jones & Atwood, for its Hi-Flow Band screen – plus Brackett Green for the highest SCR for Fine screens.
