Rags away as Landia’s pumps minimise downtime
Submersible chopper pumps from Landia are successfully handling a tough, heavy ragging process at a sewage treatment works (STW) that takes in wastewater from numerous sites in the North West.
The STW sees Landia’s 2.25kW units utilised to pump wastewater that is particularly laden with coarse, solid particles. Benefitting from an extended knife system, the Landia DG pumps keep the inlet opening free of impurities so that maintenance downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.

A spokesperson for the local water company commented: “The Landia pumps work very well, especially when considering the very abrasive nature of the wastewater we treat. We never have any bother. Landia’s pumps are a vast improvement over others we’ve tried”.

Invented by Landia in 1950, the chopper pump was designed to handle thick and highly corrosive fluids in wastewater, industrial and biogas applications.
