The new valve, which can be operated manually, hydraulic-remotely, or with solenoids, is targeted at applications on machines such as compact wheel loaders and mini excavators, cranes and material handling equipment, aerial work platforms, refuse vehicles and other truck applications.
Capable of achieving fuel savings of up to 30% versus open centre systems, the VP120 is rated for a maximum pump input of 160 litres per minute and a work section output range of 15 to 120 LPM. Input pressure rating is 280 Bar and the work port is rated to 320 Bar. The new valve’s pressure compensated load sensing work section has its own compensator so that speed control of multiple functions can be achieved regardless of changes in pressure or engine revolutions per minute.
Modular design provides a high degree of installation flexibility and allows straightforward addition and removal of hardware to suit specific applications. The combination inlet / outlet can be installed on both ends of the VP120’s valve body facilitating the routing of pump flow to both ends. Other key features of Parker’s new directional control valve include a selectable novice / expert control that enables inexperienced users to use the machine at reduced capacity, and individual port pressure limiting to help increase productivity and reduce energy losses.
