Landia’s Pumps give immediate Biogas boost
Landia’s Long Shaft Chopper Pumps have given a massive, immediate increase in biogas production for Bioplex: makers of the revolutionary new Portagester pre-composter and anaerobic fermenter for the treatment of food, trade, garden and local authority wastes.
Especially suited for the pumping of slurry and other liquids with a high dry matter content, Landia’s Long Shaft Chopper Pumps have helped create a higher throughput for Bioplex, successfully reducing retention time by macerating waste, including hard-to-handle solids that usually block conventional pumps, as Bioplex Director Chris Reynell, explains:

“We were very impressed with the instant boost to our biogas production and have also benefitted from a better compostable end-product, as well as enhanced fertilizer values”.
He added: “With their easy-maintenance, high quality pump components, applied skills and excellent back-up service, we are working in partnership with Landia to develop ever-improving methods of treating waste at source. Landia said their pumps wouldn’t block and they were right”.
Capable of handling very harsh dry matter particles, such as long vegetable fibres, straw lumps, bones, feathers, fat, entrails, food remnants and other organic residual material, Landia’s Long Shaft Chopper Pumps can be supplied for reception or storage tanks up to 7.5m tank depth.
