Sensoroid and smart chair enables health to be visualised
THK CO at Hannover Messe this week has announced and exhibited product prototypes. At the exhibition, THK displayed a humanoid sensoroid that is able to grasp various conditions of the surrounding environment. Sensors can be embedded all over the robot, thus enabling the environment in which a person is situated to be visualised on the basis of a diversity of factors. A ‘smart’ sensing chair that measures a person´s respiration, heart rate, stress levels, and more will also be on display.

At MACH this year, industrial robot specialist, TM Robotics were there to support its new UK distributor, RARUK Automation. Organised by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the biennial exhibition is an incredibly popular event for leaders in the UK’s manufacturing sector. The 2016 event was attended by 25,627 visitors over the five days and exhibitors attributed a total of £150m in new business to the show.

Power supply interfacing company, BLOCK has announced the introduction of its PowerCoil edgewise winding technology which provides unprecedented variability in the design of inductive wound products. The technology has been specially developed and constructed to produce this new type of winding design which offers designers a multitude of advantages including optimal cooling effect by maximising the heat-emitting conductor surface while simultaneously creating cooling ducts via the winding structure and minimal proximity losses with rising switching frequencies.
