The DSC Digital Strain Card, available from Celsum Technologies, is a miniature conditioning amplifier for strain gauge devices. The DSC is connected directly to a computer interface, with RS232, RS485, MODBUS and CAN protocols available. Operating from a 5V DC power supply, the DSC is fully programmable to provide data rates of up to 500 readings a second, resolution to 1 part in 400,000, and baud rates to 230,000. The DSC has on-board calibration and linearization, a programmable dynamic filter, extreme noise immunity, and may be supplied with an optional temperature sensor.
