Powerstax plc, the Farnborough based power solutions specialists, announces the introduction of its new R1801, 1800 watt, single output, high efficiency power supply. Priced at just £595 for 10 pcs, this 1U, 19” rack mounted high power density power supply offers 6.2W/in³ at 80-85% efficiency depending on the load.

Designed for use in MicroTCA applications, the new Compact Cooling Package (CCP) from Rittal has the flexibility and scalability to provide targeted cooling in many rack mounted applications where significant amounts of heat are being generated. Each CCP is capable of removing up to 1200W of heat in an efficient, controlled manner and multiple systems may be distributed within the rack if required.

Foremost Electronics, has been appointed as the UK distributor for the Marquardt 6425 range of keypad switches. With worldwide sales of more than 3,000,000 pieces per year the 6425 switch range has proven to be highly reliable and very successful in a wide range of applications including telecoms, control and alarm panels, weighing scales and similar instrumentation and point of sale equipment. The 6425 switch range has low operating noise making them suitable for pro-audio, broadcast and medical applications.

TURCK introduces the FAS20 family of IP20 rated, in-the-cabinet, block I/O stations for AS-interface® (AS-i) networks. The FAS20 stations’ compact size and DIN-rail mounting option makes them suitable for upgrading existing panels in batch processing, pharmaceutical and material handling applications.

FDB Electrical have once again addressed one of the major issues in electrical safety – that of earth continuity – with their EMGUARD series. This is a low priced series of very compact earth continuity monitors having a wide range of earth continuity impedance settings, but so designed that it is possible to set beyond the parameters specified by BS4444. The ultra-low power circulating in the pilot earth/loop (0.06W) means that it can be readily incorporated into intrinsically safe systems.

Flex-resistant cable expert igus introduces the Chainflex CF5 control cables and the CF6 shielded cable as a new standard with 600V rating according to UL. After a short transition period the bundled cables, which are now suitable for world-wide machine export, will replace the igus CF5/CF6 predecessors that are currently rated to 300V.

The Helieon™ Sustainable Light Module was recently announced as the industry’s first easily replaceable, socketed LED module with mass-market pricing. On the heels of winning the Lightfair® 2010 “Innovative Product of the Year” Award, Molex Incorporated has announced that it will be licensing its Helieon interconnect technology IP portfolio.
