Young Spirits, a Scottish spirit bottling business which has switched operations to produce much-needed hand sanitisers to fight the COVID-19 outbreak, has benefitted from a free loan offer from compressor manufacturer, Vert Technologies.

Vert Rotors has concluded its first major sales contract, marking the technology pioneer’s entry into a new commercially-driven phase of its growth. The Scottish firm’s A100 compressor – based on innovative technology that has been described as the biggest advance in the industry in 40 years – has been deployed at the University of Edinburgh to streamline their operation at the Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility Mass Spectrometry Core Laboratory. 

Vert Rotors has announced the launch of the Vert.80, the second product in its pioneering range of micro-compressors. Vert.80 is a powerful but very portable compressor for on-demand clean air.

Vert Rotors has installed precision machinery for the manufacture of micro compressors used in satellites and medical devices. As a result, the Edinburgh manufacturer will create three highly skilled new jobs in Scotland. The project received a £46,000 Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) support grant from Scottish Enterprise, and helped Vert to realise a quarter million investment.

First developed for space and travel, now the tiny air compressor has been adapted for commercial applications on Earth by Edinburgh-based manufacturer Vert Rotors. The VERT.04.W compressor is barely bigger than the face of a wristwatch, and is the world’s smallest high-pressure and low-vibration clean air compressor.
