A global movement getting more women into engineering will plan how to more than double the number of girls it reaches at a very special event to be held at the University of Sussex. The Robogals SINE (Seminars Inducting New Executive-committees) Conference 2019 will bring together chapters from Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) this week for a three day event celebrating the increasing participation of young women in STEM.

An international team, led by a scientist from the University of Sussex, have unveiled the first practical blueprint for how to build a quantum computer, the most powerful computer on Earth. This huge leap forward towards creating a universal quantum computer is published in the influential journal Science Advances. It has long been known that such a computer would revolutionise industry, science and commerce on a similar scale as the invention of ordinary computers.
