Transmission Developments has signed a UK distribution agreement with the endless flat belt specialist Max Schlatterer GmbH, bringing the premier Esband and Werner GRAF brands to its comprehensive range of belting products. These drive and conveyor belts are manufactured using a genuinely endless woven technique in a wide range of carcass materials and finished with special coatings that are matched to the friction coefficient, durability, speed and accuracy requirements for high precision/high performance power transmission and conveying.

Tales Of The Sea – According To Transdev (a Story Of Fast Turnaround Gear Cutting Success)
Earlier in the summer, the Matthew, a 15th century full sized replica sailing ship that was built in 1997 to commemorate its namesakes historic Atlantic crossing 500 years earlier was returning from a marine festival in France when it developed a major mechanical problem off the treacherous coast of Dorset. The ship's raw water engine cooling pump gearbox had failed beyond use with its main gears stripped and requiring replacement. Without engine power and in threatening sea conditions, the square rigged Matthew, skippered by Ben Jones and his eighteen strong crew, had no choice but to set full sail for the Port of Poole where they hoped to find a safe haven and undertake the repair work.

Transdev gets to grips for schools search and rescue robot winner
Poole based Transmission Developments (Transdev) has helped Andrew Cowan, a student at Sutton Grammar School, to win a top prize at the recently held finals of the National Science and Engineering Competition for his novel and low-cost, search and rescue robot. Year 11? scholar Andrew's tracked robot uses Transdev's BRECOflex ® ATK10 series timing belts with special Linatex® high grip bonded backings and matching pulleys to provide the robots' traction which has been thoroughly tested by towing a car during field trials.
