The Crestapol® range of resins for pultrusion and closed mould from Scott Bader continue to win new composites customers due to their excellent technical qualities of low viscosity, rapid cure and excellent toughness whilst delivering key financial benefits, such as cutting cycle times in half.

A Crestomer® structural adhesives training workshop for boat builders was recently organised by Scott Bader Scandinavia AB and Hans Claussen AS, the Scott Bader distributor for Norway. The training workshop was held at one of the Windy Boats factories in Norway. Windy is one of the leading GRP boat builders in Scandinavia. The workshop was attended by 17 key technical and production people from leisure and lifeboat producers in Norway.

Scott Bader products, including gelcoats and their Crystic® 703PA polyester resin have proved to be the materials of choice specified by Sörkomp of Norway for the production of GRP subsea structures.

A new styrene acrylic copolymer designed for use in high performance anti-corrosion applications has been introduced by Scott Bader Company Ltd. Called Texicryl 13-600, the product is alkyl phenol ethoxylate free, and is possibly the first water-based primer of this type to achieve a 500 hours salt spray resistance standard, based on a 50 microns single coat dry film thickness on steel when applied to clean, well prepared surfaces.

The Crystic matched-performance marine products from Scott Bader Company Ltd have been exclusively specified by Alen Yachting of Istanbul for the production of their new Metaphor 68 luxury yacht.

The range of high performance resin systems available from Scott Bader Co Ltd has been extended with their latest Crystic Crestapol® range. Crestapol 1210 is designed for use in RTM (resin transfer moulding) and pultrusion applications, with a partially pre-accelerated grade (Crestapol 1210A) also being available.
