In the past, standard IT systems have been separate from Operational Technology (OT), but this picture is now changing with IT/OT convergence and we’re seeing areas like industrial IT revolutionised by new connectivity. Paessler is expanding its PRTG platform to offer better monitoring within converged industrial IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The technology monitoring specialist has developed a new sensor to capture data from IoT devices and signed a new partnership with INSYS icom, an expert in industrial data communications.

Paessler has announced the PRTG PLUS, a new channel-focused subscription licence. This new offering will be available to certified PRTG PLUS Partners for end users who need to monitor 5,000 devices or more. PRTG PLUS will run alongside the existing PRTG offerings.

Paessler, also known as ‘the network monitoring company’ developed PRTG, asoftware that monitors a whole IT infrastructure 24/7, alerts you to problems and issues that occur even before you notice them, and helps system administrators work smarter, faster and better. Recently Anna Flockett of Electronic Specifier went along to Paessler’s ‘Back to the Future’ event which was hosted at the National Museum of Computing in Milton Keynes and saw the company hosting a journey through the history of computing, from the ultra-secret pioneering efforts of the 1940s through to the rise of personal computing and where we are today.
