National Semiconductor Introduces Industry’s First 100V Half-bridge Gate Driver for Enhancement-mode Gallium-Nitride Power FETs
Highly-integrated Half-bridge Gate Driver Boosts Power Density and Efficiency in High-voltage Applications - National Semiconductor Corp. have introduced the industry’s first 100V half-bridge gate driver optimized for use with enhancement-mode Gallium-Nitride (GaN) power field-effect transistors (FETs) in high-voltage power converters. National’s new LM5113 is a highly-integrated, high-side and low-side GaN FET driver that reduces component count by 75 percent and shrinks printed circuit board (PCB) area by up to 85 percent compared to discrete driver designs.

The FPD-Link III chipset supports in-car distribution of protected video and audio content -- such as Blu-ray movies up to 720p resolution -- to create a home theater experience in the vehicle.

National Semiconductor’s 65V Dual-Channel, Dual-Phase Synchronous Buck Controller Saves PCB Space in High Voltage Applications
National Semiconductor Corp. introduced the LM5119, a high voltage, dual-channel, dual-phase, synchronous buck controller with emulated current-mode (ECM) control. The LM5119 enables regulation of single or dual high-current voltages directly from inputs as high as 65V, simplifying high voltage DC-DC conversion and reducing PCB footprint by up to 50 percent versus alternative solutions requiring two conversion stages. The LM5119 features a unique combination of high performance, flexibility and ease-of-use for demanding telecommunication, automotive and industrial control applications that require accurate voltage regulation. The device expands National’s portfolio of high voltage synchronous buck controllers to address higher load currents.
