Mentor Graphics Announces Further Capital Tool Expansion with New Product that Cuts Wire Harness Manufacturing Costs

Mentor Graphics Corporation announced availability of Capital Harness MPMa software application that helps wire harness manufacturers cut production costs. Addressing manufacturing process management, Capital Harness MPM systematically models harness designs against production capabilities to create structured bill-of-materials data. This data is typically used to drive enterprise resource management (ERP) systems. Capital Harness MPM is part of the Capital® tool suite, a powerful electrical system and wire harness design environment for the automotive, aerospace and defense industries. The new tool delivers important additional production engineering capability to Capital’s Define-Design-Build-Service flow.

Mentor Graphics Signs Exclusive Global Agreement with Automotive Supplier Magneti Marelli

Mentor Graphics Corporation announced the signing of an exclusive, worldwide agreement with automotive electronics systems and components provider, Magneti Marelli. Valor, a division of Mentor and a global provider of productivity improvement software across the printed circuit board manufacturing supply chain, will supply its vManage™ solutions for traceability of the entire production process, from the screen printer to the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) component placement machine at the company’s multiple global locations. The agreement is the culmination of a partnership which, eighteen months ago, saw Magneti Marelli decide to expand its Valor® vManage installations for assembly traceability and feeder verification worldwide, including manufacturing sites in Italy, Spain, and Mexico.

The Valor Division of Mentor Graphics Corporation announced that Autoliv has upgraded to the Valor® vPlan™ process engineering tools. Autoliv, a worldwide leader in automotive safety, is a global supplier of electronic automotive safety components. The Valor vPlan product is a single solution that drives the manufacturing process by delivering a complete, seamless engineering flow from CAD to machine, covering surface mount technology (SMT,) through-hole technology (THT), and manual assembly. Valor, a Division of Mentor Graphics, Releases Major New Functionality in the vSure DFM Product

Mentor Graphics Corporation announced the release of the vSure™ version 9.0 product, the successor of Valor Enterprise 3000™ Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) product. The enhancements in this release enable designers to more easily perform extensive DFM analysis during the PCB design process, thus improving their productivity, avoiding costly design re-spins, and speeding the time to target high-volume production.
