Global microelectronics engineering company, Melexis, has announced a new second-generation resolver motor position sensor based upon its proprietary Triaxis Hall magnetic sensing technology. The new single IC solution MLX90380 is compatible with any brushless motor - including Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) and Brushless DC Motors (BLDC) - thanks to its ability to measure the absolute angle. It is suited to the ever-growing number of automotive applications arising as a result of the greater electrification of vehicles.
In response to the emergence of laser-powered automotive front lighting systems, Melexis has optimised its MLX75305 series of advanced light sensor ICs. Each MLX75305 incorporates a photodiode, trans-impedance amplifier and output stage. Unlike competing devices on the market, it is fully AEC-Q100 qualified and supports an operational temperature range from -40C up to +125°C.
The MLX90364 Triaxis is a high accuracy position sensor, from Melexis, which eliminates need for inclusion of a printed circuit board within sensing modules. This device is based on a dual mold package construction, which integrates a 12-bit resolution position sensing die together with the decoupling capacitors necessary to meet the strenuous electro-static discharge and electromagnetic compliance requirements of automotive environments.
Melexis announces its next generation IC family for sensor-less and sensor based BLDC motor control in automotive applications. The new IC family consists of 4 base members; the MLX81205, MLX81207, MLX81210 and MLX81215. Each is available with a variety of memory configurations and in different package options.
