Meggitt Sensing Systems will be highlighting its Endevco line of sensors at the upcoming NI Week Conference Aug. 5-8, 2013, at the Austin (Texas) Convention Center. The Meggitt Sensing Systems display, at exhibit booth #436, will showcase a wide range of Endevco general purpose Isotron, acoustic, piezoresistive and variable capacitance sensors for shock, pressure and vibration applications.

Nuclear power plants utilize vibration monitoring to ensure continuous power generation and safety for personnel and equipment, and prevent radiation leaks. Expensive and crucial machinery including cold water feed pumps, pressurized water reactors, and steam generators operate more efficiently as a result of condition monitoring. Meggitt has developed new radiation-hardened vibration sensors and cable assemblies to meet specific requirements for the reliability of monitoring equipment in nuclear evironments.

Meggitt Sensing Systems announced today that it has hired Chris Kramm as Senior Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for Wilcoxon Research products. Mr Kramm will work in the Research and Product Development group to design sensors and accessories for vibration monitoring systems. In his role as Senior Electrical Engineer, Mr. Kramm’s primary responsibility will be leading the electronic design process for new products, including managing requirements set by customer specifications, test and evaluation of prototypes, and documentation management.

Meggitt offers a trio of triaxial products for permanent and hand held vibration monitoring applications. Wilcoxon triaxial sensors, cables and connection boxes are appropriate for monitoring most industrial rotating equipment including cooling tower fans, blowers, pumps, compressors, chillers, gearboxes, mixers and motors.

Meggitt has upgraded the Germantown facility’s AS9100 Aerospace Standard for Quality Systems certification. To maintain the AS9100 certification initially obtained in 2009, Meggitt Sensing Systems underwent a thorough audit of the Germantown, Maryland facility to ensure that quality management goals are measureable and achievable.

Meggitt introduces a new side exit, low profile, dual output accelerometer with a built-in temperature sensor. The 787T is the side exit version of Wilcoxon Research’s extremely popular 786T top exit, combined output, temperature and vibration general purpose sensor.
