Lenze: Solid ground for future growth

In these economically challenging times the Lenze Group considers itself well positioned despite the tense situation in mechanical and systems engineering. Although the Hamelin based specialist for drive and automation solutions has felt the effects of the global economic and financial crisis in the last financial year 2008/2009 (1st May 2008 – 30th April 2009), the company was able to react in time to decreasing demand. Dr. Erhard Tellbüscher, chairman, explained at the annual press conference on the financial year: Growth in mechanical engineering began to slow down, almost coming to a full stop after running full speed. As suppliers we noticed a fall in demand in the second half of our financial year. In order to react to the unstable market conditions with clear decisions, we developed a model to predict possible future trends on time. On this basis we were able to take action at an early stage and adjust our company to the new challenges. Together with Michael Mölleken, Executive

New marine flexible shaft coupling

New marine flexible shaft coupling
The Hexaflex-Blue is a new range of shaft couplings available from Techdrives for marine applications. Designed for small to medium propulsion drives, also auxiliary drives and bow thrusters, Hexaflex-Blue combines high misalignment capacity with vibration damping to achieve a smoother transmission and longer life of the drive components. Eight sizes are available with rated torques from 55 to 1760Nm and coupling dimensions can be customised to fit between the gearbox and driven shaft. The maintenance free design is already proven on leisure and military applications.

Geared motors with new surface protection system

Geared motors with new surface protection system
In order to ensure reliable operation of geared motors even in environments with high humidity, atmospheric contamination or outdoor installations, Lenze have developed a three level system of surface and corrosion protection. Available with the G-motion range of geared motors and geared brake motors, the new protection system includes an optimised multi-layer paint finish plus other supporting measures. Whilst Lenze geared motors without any additional protection are resistant to oil, dirt and moisture, these new measures allow well-defined protection that suits practically all industrial applications.
