Laidler Associates, part of the machinery division of TÜV SÜD Product Service, has announced that it is lending its support to the new Automating Manufacturing Programme, managed by the British Automation and Robot Association (BARA), a PPMA Group Association. The programme, which has recently been awarded £600,000 by the government to fund its activities, has commenced with immediate effect until 31st March 2013 and aims to encourage the uptake of automation among UK manufacturers.

Laidler Associate will be sponsoring the Demonstration Zone at the inaugural Health and Safety Ireland event which takes place at The National Show Centre, Dublin on the 16-17 November 2011. Laidler, who specialises in machinery safety legislation and risk assessments, will also deliver a presentation at Health and Safety Ireland on Practical Machinery Safety, including Guarding Issues. Using its virtual reality system to re-create a typical working environment, Laidler is able to bring to life the problems that are present and demonstrate how to provide safe solutions in this area. Focusing on the practical nature of the zone, Laidler will demonstrate how to carry out machinery risk assessments in line with relevant legislation.

The latest edition of ‘A practical guide to machinery safety’, sponsored by Laidler Associates, part of the machinery division of TÜV SÜD Product Service, is now available for free download from the Laidler website.

Laidler Associates will be running their University Certificate in Professional Development (UCPD) courses on European Machinery Safety, Electrical Safety and the newer Functional Safety Standards this Autumn. The first one is due to take place on the 17th October 2011 at the Ramada Hotel, Solihull.
