Its essential to be safe as well as efficient

Its essential to be safe as well as efficient
The latest safe-lock pull out protection system is becoming industry standard, HAIMER the company behind the product claim. The HAIMER Safe-Lock pull out protection system ensures safe cutting tool clamping. Special drive keys in the tool holder perfectly match the spiral shaped grooves on the cutting tool shank, thus creating frictional clamping forces and a positive locking form-fit. This effectively prevents the cutting tool from pulling out of the tool holder. Furthermore, it increases the productivity through faster permissible speeds and increased tool life.

Where chips are flying, tool holding plays an important role

Where chips are flying, tool holding plays an important role
Like most other Pilatus aircraft’s, the successful Pilatus Turboprop multi-role aircraft PC12 mainly consists of aluminium structural components. In 2016 Pilatus Aircraft installed new manufacturing systems for machining structural parts made of aluminium. In order to achieve the desired surface quality and precision during high speed milling operations, the aircraft manufacturer continuously relies on the solutions provided by HAIMER: a large selection of tool holders and the corresponding shrinking and balancing machines.

Heavy duty machining – The Safe-Lock system

Heavy duty machining – The Safe-Lock system
When it comes to roughing and heavy duty machining, the importance of the tool holder is still understated. Crucial for the productivity of the machining operation is the metal removal rates in these types of processes. By using special shrink fit chucks with drive pins and spiral grooves in the tool shank it is now possible to perform high-feed full slotting of up to 2xD (50mm) or more in difficult to machine materials.
