Cambridge Wireless and Silicon South West have today announced that registrations for pitching companies to enter the Discovering Start-Ups 2012 Competition have opened. The competition will take place on 21st November and will be hosted at the prestigious London venue of the legal firm Taylor Wessing and is further supported by Google, Rohde and Schwarz and SetSquared Partnership.

Cambridge Wireless has joined forces with National Electronics Week in order to promote wireless technology at the NEC Birmingham 18-19 April 2012. Cambridge Wireless, a vibrant membership organisation with over 300 members, is working with the event organisers of NEW to create a wireless showcase at the 2012 show. The aim is to collaborate with companies from across the sector to establish a focal point for visitors interested in wireless technology.

Ambitious new tech start-ups, inventors and budding entrepreneurs only have one month left to enter the Cambridge Wireless Discovering Start-Ups 2011 competition and get the chance to pitch to leading venture capitalists, angels and industry investors. Representatives from Microsoft, RIM, Nokia, Vodafone Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Innovacom, Broadcom, Orange and ARM are among those lining up to pick the winners and provide expert advice.

The Cambridge Wireless Sensing SIG in conjunction with the Univ. Of Cambridge Eiffel Project will be uncovering the secrets to success in Wireless Sensing. This half day free event will be taking place at the Computer Labs, University of Cambridge on the 7th April 2011, and is supported by the Discovering Start-Ups Project, an initiative funded by EEDA to support and showcase start up companies.

Start-ups are the life blood of today’s economies and will play a major role in keeping the UK out of recession, was the message from Dr Hermann Hauser, partner and co-founder of Amadeus Partners, in his keynote session at the ‘Show us the Money’ conference at the Møller Centre in Cambridge on 13th July 2010. The event marked the launch of Discovering Start-Ups 2010, a competition and initiative organised by the Cambridge Wireless network and supported by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), to find the very best new wireless technologies and future business tycoons.
