Though compressed air is a key element in many commercial and industrial set-ups it is extremely expensive to produce. To improve economic performance and reduce their environmental impact plant operators can adopt a few simple strategies to get the most out of their compressed air system, BOGE’s general manager, Mark Whitmore explains how.

At the Hanover Fair this year (April 1st to 5th), BOGE Compressors will be unveiling two new screw compressors, including a special 111th Anniversary Edition of its S-4 machine. In a celebration of 111 years of engineering innovation and high-quality manufacturing. Now in its fourth generation of development, the S-4 takes energy saving, sound pressure dBA and ease of maintenance to an entirely new level.

Within the wind energy sector a leading manufacturer of drive train technology, is saving almost £44,000 a year thanks to the installation of a BOGE compressor and pipework. The customer’s 110kW compressor was predominantly used in air beds for lifting and shifting components, air tools and punch presses feeding the manufacturing plant. However, three other unused factories also remain on the site due to downsizing of the UK manufacturing operation.

In response to growing demand for its products and services BOGE Compressors UK has relocated from its base in Brighouse, where it has been for over 20 years, and has moved its entire UK operations to a new site in Huddersfield. It is now operating out of three industrial units, totalling 12,750 square feet.

Leading compressor specialist BOGE has released a new white paper revealing how food and beverage manufacturers can cut the total cost of ownership of compressors by up to 30%. The white paper, which is available for free download, explores in depth the new oil-free high speed turbo (HST) technology that is set to revolutionise compressor use in the manufacturing of food and drink products.

Two ageing fixed speed air compressors have been replaced at Armitage Shanks’ factory in Rugeley, Staffordshire with an updated system from BOGE. The manufacturer of basins, toilets and other sanitary ware has been a 27% reduction in energy costs and a 29% cut in maintenance costs, as well as carbon emission savings of around £3,500 a year.  

The latest super-silenced scroll compressor, the EO 6, has been unveiled by BOGE Compressors.
