Bell Flow Systems

When looking for a solution to measure a process involving a solution of water and formic acid, a customer in need approached Bell Flow to assist. The customer required a solution for dispensing specific amounts of formic acid solution for use in their drain cleaning products. After a meeting with the client, Bell Flow Systems discussed their current process and their desired changes. The most appropriate solution was to install a complete system of batch control for formic acid.

Syngas or ‘synthesis gas' is a combination of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, small quantities of carbon dioxide and other trace gases. Syngas is the result of gasification of various carbon-containing fuels to produce a gaseous product with heating value. Featuring advanced application options with user-friendly ‘thru-glass’ operation, the B3100 flow monitor from US manufacturer Blancett, also utilises finger proximity detecting buttons and is now available from Bell Flow Systems. Data logging, remote data access and programming are available, without the need to open the enclosure - ensuring application integrity in demanding installations. The B3100 is explosion-proof in accordance with ATEX, IECEx, FM and CSA c-us.

Bell Flow Systems was approached regarding a rather challenging task of glucose flow measurement. A production line specialist needed a solution for controlling the glucose flow measurement in a newly built processing plant for a large, UK based soft drinks manufacturer.

Customers having problems with existing standard meter installations contacted Bell Flow Systems leading distributor of flow meter. A geared flow meter had previously been installed for the applications but due to the suspended particles in the water, the meter kept jamming and causing the meter to cease. This in turn caused problems further up the line.

The Gespasa BDP high-flow, explosion proof range of vane pumps are self-priming, positive displacement, and continuously rated. The BDP pumps in the collection are suitable for use with diesel, petrol, kerosene and other clean, non-corrosive liquids. Transfers using the range of BDP pumps are quick, uniform and inaudible for a simple operation. Constructed from IP-55 hard-wearing die casted iron housing, the pumps are ATEX EExd IIBT4 certified for use in hazardous environments.

The London-based brewery, Weird Beard Brew Company, which specialise in hand-craft beers recently needed a flow meter for its brewery so came to Bell Flow. The requirement was for a high accuracy meter, with minimal wear and tear to ensure longevity and low maintenance, allowing more time to do what they are good at - make beer.

A durable multi-purpose digital turbine flow meter, suitable for diesel, fuel oil, water, antifreeze and Adblue from German manufacturer Tecalemit is now available in the UK from Bell Flow Systems. The FMT 3 flow meter features a symmetrical measurement chamber allowing the device to be used with flow in both directions.

A meter to supply the accurate measurement and recording of the flow of sea water being pumped across a beach at Hinkley point has been provided by Bell Flow Systems. Hinkley point in Somerset is the site for a new nuclear power station, the first in the UK for a generation. As the 10 year construction scheme begins there are many environmental factors to be considered at each phase.
