Super-efficiency electric motor target is achievable today using Baldor's IEC frame range

Super-efficiency electric motor target is achievable today using Baldor's IEC frame range
The new IE3 minimum efficiency standard for new electric motors that will become part of Europe's mandatory requirements starting in 2015 is already available in Baldor's range. IE3 is effectively the same as the USA's NEMA Premium standard, and over the last few years Baldor has developed a very broad range of super-efficient IEC frame types alongside its NEMA Premium motors for domestic American markets. With efficiencies up to 96%-plus, upgrading to one of these IE3 motors now could repay a motor's capital investment cost several times over by 2015, as well as generate substantial ongoing energy cost savings for users.

EISA-compliant NEMA motors now available in Europe

EISA-compliant NEMA motors now available in Europe
Baldor has announced European availability of NEMA three-phase motors that meet the increased energy efficiency demands required by the USA’s forthcoming Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA). This legislation, which becomes mandatory on December 19, 2010, sets stringent new efficiency standards for a broad range of three-phase motors – including explosion proof, severe duty and brake motors – with power ratings from 1 to 500 HP. After this date, imports of equipment containing non-compliant motors will be rejected at the USA port of entry. By making EISA-compliant motors directly available to European OEM exporters, Baldor is effectively enabling its customers to stay one step ahead of the game.

Baldor expands sales support for European air handling industry
Baldor has announced that its Munich facility is now carrying extensive stocks of component parts for Dodge HFO oil-lubricated spherical roller bearings, backed by a fast-turnaround housing assembly service. These bearings, usually paired with split plummer block housings, are one of the mainstays of the air handling industry. Designed specifically for applications where reliability and long inter-maintenance intervals are key criteria – such as industrial fans and blowers – the bearings and housings are also ideal for critical machinery such as emergency generators.
