A customer in the meat processing industry had a requirement for a heavy duty Stainless Steel based anitary conveyor that was to feature curves. The team at Dorner quickly went to work to build an all-stainless steel welded unit with a plastic chain base that could be subjected to fast, effective and easy sanitation.

Everyone who’s ever taken a biology class knows that bacteria are the most abundant life form on earth. They’re everywhere. But one place they shouldn’t be is in the conveyor system of a major nutritional bar manufacturer. Our client’s old conveyer used a bucket and chain system to move ingredients through the plant. Buckets and chains, it turns out, are prime bacteria hangouts. Cleaning this antique system to the required levels for the food industry soaked up valuable man hours … hours that couldn’t be used in production. So the company asked Automation Supplies to come up with a solution: an easy-to-clean stainless elevating belt conveyor system that (oh, by the way) also had to negotiate a 23-foot rise in elevation at a 60° angle.

Dorner conveyors were recently specified in a very unique project for a pharmaceutical third party logistics (3PL) provider that offers drug reprocessing for major retail chains and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The drugs handled range from common antibiotics to highly controlled narcotics. This keeps their facility and processes under the watchful eye of the Food and Drug authorities to ensure that the product is properly tracked and routed to the correct destination for destruction or return to manufacturer.
