IC with integrated diagnostics monitors meter health

Analog Devices has introduced the first metering IC that includes mSure diagnostics technology enabling direct and noninvasive monitoring of electric meter accuracy and faults in real-time. mSure-enabled meters, combined with a cloud analytics service, provide utility companies with real-time data and actionable insights to protect revenue from tampering, manage field resources more effectively, cut equipment cost, and improve customer service.

Single chip switch reduces size and power of deterministic Ethernet

A Real-time Ethernet, Multi-protocol (REM) switch chip has been introduced by Analog Devices, (ADI) as a part of its new generation of high performance, deterministic Ethernet connectivity solutions for connected motion and Intelligent Factory applications. The fido5000, developed by ADI’s Deterministic Ethernet Technology Group (formally Innovasic), reduces board size and power consumption while improving Ethernet performance at the node under any network load condition.

Two high frequency, low noise MEMS accelerometers designed specifically for industrial condition monitoring applications have been announced by Analog Devices. Collaboration to improve reliability of smart substation

Analog Devices (ADI) has announced a collaboration with the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) to improve reliability of smart substations, the 'nerve centres' of modern electrical grids. New electronics and sensor technologies are enabling resilient and flexible grids to meet the evolving needs of how energy is generated, distributed and consumed. The Analog Devices CEPRI team will engage in joint laboratory and field research to drive innovations advancing the reliability of smart substations.
